A card on your finger. In Japan, they introduced rings for paying for purchases
The Japanese company MTG has started selling Evering smart rings on the domestic market, which can be used to pay for goods.
The ring with a built-in chip is made of synthetic zirconium crystal. It is waterproof and does not require recharging, the creators of the gadget emphasize.
A ring made of zirconium dioxide, a synthetic crystal that is sometimes used instead of diamonds in jewelry, allows people to lock their doors, as well as pay for purchases in stores.
The Covid-19 pandemic has made contactless payments a much more popular method of shopping. Against this background, MTG signed a contract with Visa to sell the first batch of 3,000 rings in Japan.
To start using the Evering smart ring, you need to connect bank cards to it using the mobile program. To pay, you must bring the ring to the terminal. The maximum purchase amount with the ring is 30 thousand yen ($270), and the ring itself costs 19,800 yen ($182).
