Hyundai has released the Ioniq 5 electric crossover, capable of charging other cars

Automaker Hyundai has released another electric car. The I oniq 5 is a compact electric crossover with a rather unusual functionality for the electric vehicle market.

The five-seat car is able to travel almost 500 kilometers without recharging and is equipped with one or two electric motors in different configuration options. The car will be produced under the Bioniq brand, while Hyundai intends to launch electric vehicles under its own name only by 2040.

One of the main features of the Ioniq 5 is the ability to reverse charge. The machine is capable of powering power tools, electric scooters and bicycles, and any other devices that run on electricity-including other electric vehicles (the necessary cable is included).

The start of deliveries of the Ioniq 5 is not expected until the fall, and manufacturers say only that they will be "competitive".
