In the latest update of the Steam beta client, we found references to a possible portable console from Valve codenamed Neptune, also known as SteamPal.

Shortly after, Ars Technica reported that a portable console from Valve actually exists.


According to sources, the console will run on Linux, and will also get a touch screen and built-in control buttons. In addition, it can be connected to a TV or monitor via USB Type-C. The design of the device can be compared to the Nintendo Switch Lite.


The final name and price of the console is still unknown, but Ars Technica notes that the device may go on sale before the end of this year.
